From the office staff, the physical therapy, the CNA’s and the maintenance everyone has been so kind and caring. Mom is so happy at Whisperwood, which makes me happy. It’s a very hard transition putting mom in a nursing home but the staff here are wonderful and very caring. They care about my mom and are so gentle and good with her.

Oddly, they have no cameras to prove he ever hurt anyone. He has been the one with head wounds and a bloody lip. There are little to no activities to engage the residents. They just sit in the hall staring out, or sit in the “lounge” on a old couch watching tv.
I go visit her every day, and they are very caring and very nice. She is bedridden, and the staff is very nice. While I am there, they are always kind and they ask her, "Do you need anything, do you want anything, do you want us to change you?" They are always coming in and seeing how she is doing. They said that they give her a bath every other day.
I have now been here for 4 months & call it home. I'm not treated as just a patient, I live here. When I was told to make it my home I did exactally that! My quirky taste in art is one of a kind but it's mine. I go visit my family, go shopping, out to eat or see a movie when I want.

The building was run down and the attempted improvements were poorly done. There were many staff members standing around the nurse station, but we saw none interacting with patients. The young lady we spoke with was nice but could not answer questions fully. We noticed a sour smell within the building. When taken to another staff member to answer our questions, we were met with disinterest. The staff are very professional and provide the best care possible. As of the last update they had a daily average of 67.2 residents compared to the TX average of 70.25 and a National average of 86.4. Star ratings are often best used for basic comparisons and when deciding which facilities to visit. However, nothing beats actually visiting the nursing home yourself when possible. They have tarnished my dads record with their ridiculous claims and now no other place will take him because of it. I went to Whisperwood Nursing & Rehabilitation Center. It's more of skilled nursing, but they do have lifetime residents there. It felt more like a nursing home, and I didn't want my parents in that kind of atmosphere. It was nice, but not a place for my parents.
